Tulane University

Tulane University, founded in 1834, is a highly selective, private research university located in New Orleans, Louisiana. There are over 7,000 undergraduates on our campus, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 8:1, and over 75 majors offered. Graduate students and programs are near equal this size. The university is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities, a select group of the 62 leading research universities in the United States and Canada with “preeminent programs of graduate and professional education and scholarly research.” While Tulane maintains the highest designation for research activity, the university is also recognized for the atmosphere of a smaller institution with classes averaging 20 students, and a flexible curriculum that encourages the study of multiple disciplines and their intersections.
